Joseph P. Richardson

Dr. Richardson grew up in Tavares, Florida and graduated from Tavares High School in 1997. He attended and graduated Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas where he met and married his wife Cynthia in 2002.

Dr. Richardson attended dental school at the University of Florida and was president of his class all 4 years. He remained active throughout dental school and participated as a member American Student Dental Association as well as a member of the dental school's admissions committee. He was the second student in school history to graduate with the designation "High Research Honors".

He continued his education by pursuing a career in periodontics also at the University of Florida where he earned a certificate in Periodontology and a Master’s degree studying the healing properties of gum tissue around dental implants. While in residency, he became involved with the Tacachale Special Needs Dental Clinic in Gainesville, Florida. Under the mentorship of Dr. Timothy Garvey, he learned the rewarding aspects of treating physically and mentally disabled patients in a non-hospital environment.

Currently, Dr. Richardson lives in his hometown of Tavares and practices periodontics in both Eustis and Maitland, Florida. He maintains membership with the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Greater Orlando Dental Association, Lake County Dental Association, Florida Association of Periodontics, and the American Academy of Periodontology.
